Statement attributable to Bob Harvey, President and CEO of the Greater Houston Partnership
“I’m pleased to see that strong leadership, which is a hallmark of Houston professional sports, will continue at the Dynamo and Dash. Ted Segal’s excitement for soccer and for Houston are palpable, and I expect he will be a great addition to the local sports community and our region as a whole. Jamey Rootes, of course, is best known for the role he played over two decades in helping build the Houston Texans into one of the world’s most successful sports franchises. He is an extraordinary Houston business leader and has played a significant role here at the Partnership through the years, including serving as our chair in 2016. Few can match Jamey’s enthusiasm for sports and his drive to see Houston succeed—he is the consummate example of what makes this city great. I’m excited to see him remain in Houston and help build on the accomplishments of the Dynamo and Dash clubs. Soccer truly is the world’s sport, and these teams help export the Houston message abroad, building on our reputation as a great global city.”
