The 89th Texas Legislature concluded its 140-day regular session on June 2, 2025. With more than 9,000 bills filed, the Greater Houston Partnership advanced key priorities for the region. The session resulted in historic investments in public education and workforce development, as well as long-term funding to secure Texas’ water infrastructure for future growth.
The Partnership supported major funding for schools, workforce pathways, and resilient water systems.

Members can engage directly with elected officials and government relations professionals through several key programs. Public Policy Engagement offers direct access to policymakers and meaningful discussions on the region’s future. Future of Texas connects members with leaders at the local, state, and federal levels. The Washington, D.C. Fly-In provides face-to-face advocacy with Congress and federal agencies. Women in Government fosters a network for women in public policy and government affairs, amplifying the voices of female leadership in civic dialogue.
